Maria Golihar was born in Bryan/College Station, and was raised in Dallas, TX. After high school she went into the military where she completed 10 years of service. Maria traveled to many places, saw many things and met different people. Maria was first inspired by Dark Crystal and the way they were able to shoot puppets and create realistic movement. She was also inspired by John Carpenter’ s Halloween with it's surreal POV camera. This inspired her to explore the world of movies, which lead her to The Art Institute of Dallas.
She has worked as a freelance production assistant. While she was getting her bachelor in Digital Media and Video Production. While participating in two award winning short films, Maria gained knowledge in many areas of video production, which makes her a versatile asset to any production.
Maria has worked as Director, Producer, Camera Operator, Art Director, and Visual Effects Artist. With the experience and knowledge gained from her degree, she is ready to apply it to her future. It is Maria's love of creating films and working to make a difference that continues to inspire her work.
